About Us
WHY WE ONLY DO GROUND MOUNTS
We're not generalists. We don't do roofs. We don't do electrical. We do ground mounts—and we do enough of them to be really good at it.
HOW IT STARTED
Bert started as a rooftop solar installer and electrician in Texas. Rooftop work was steady, but every few weeks a ground mount would land on the schedule.
The problem: Ground mounts were a headache for project managers. Different equipment, different skills, different workflow. Solar companies do maybe 10-15 ground mounts a year—not enough to justify buying a trencher or training crews on concrete work. Every ground mount became a scramble.
The side hustle: Bert started taking ground mount jobs from multiple solar companies. One company's occasional headache became steady work when you're getting jobs from four or five different installers.
The realization: When you're doing ground mounts every week instead of once a month, you get really good at them. You know which equipment handles which soil. You know how long each job takes. You stop making the mistakes that slow everyone else down.
The decision: Go all-in on ground mounts. Drop the rooftop work. Specialize completely. That was 2018.
WHY SPECIALIZATION MATTERS
Here's a question: Do you want a contractor who does ground mounts once a month, or one who does them every week?
Most solar companies are optimized for rooftop installs. Their trucks carry rooftop equipment. Their crews are trained for shingle and tile. When a ground mount comes up, they're improvising.
We're optimized for ground mounts. Our trucks carry augers, trenchers, and concrete equipment. Our crews know what 8" of black clay means for pier depth. We're not figuring it out—we already know.
500+ projects means we've seen every soil condition Texas has to offer. Every racking system. Every weird site challenge. The learning curve is behind us.
THE NUMBERS
WHO TRUSTS US
Freedom Solar, Solstice Solar, and other top Texas installers call us when they need ground mounts done right. Two of the four solar companies on Forbes' "Best Solar Companies in Texas" list trust us with their ground mount work.
They don't have to explain the job twice. They don't have to worry about whether we'll show up with the right equipment.
We're fully insured—general liability, commercial auto, and workers comp. We work as a sub on your permits, or we can pull our own if needed.
